Clues revised 4/9/11 - Trail was changed

From the intersection of routes 44 and 89 in Ashford, go North on route 89. You come to a T with a church in front of you. Route 89 turns left here. You take a right here onto Boston Hollow Road. Go down this road and take your first right onto Eastford Road. Drive 6/10 of a mile down Eastford Road. You will see a blue blazed tree on your right and a small area along side of the road for several cars to park.

Take the blue blazed trail on the right side of the road. Eventually, you will come to the intersection of the Natchaug and Nipmuck trails. There are several signs here. You can’t miss it. Go to the signs at the intersection and take a reading of 40 degrees. You will walk slightly uphill, off trail, at 40 degrees, 45 steps, to a large rock over 4 feet in height. Look under this rock on the north side. You will have to move a couple smaller rocks to get to your treasure. Walk back the way you came closely watching the marked trees. The walk from your car to the letterbox will take between 20 to 30 minutes one way.

Before you set out, please read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
